Membership Drive at Berry College Successful

A membership drive and information sharing forum for the Georgia chapter of TACF was held on Saturday March 12th at Berry College’s Science Building auditorium.

About 30 interested American Chestnut Tree lovers attended to learn more about the plight of this beautiful tree and the restoration of the American Chestnut Foundation.

Dr Don Davis, president of the Georgia chapter, Patricia Tomlinson Assistant Professor of Biology at Berry College along with several area Chapter members were present for this informative public forum.

Dr Donald Davis, acting President of the Georgia Chapter of The American Chestnut Foundation presented a background history of the tree.

Mark Stallings, Georgia Teacher of The Year, is the chapter's nominee for President in 2005-2006.  Mark spoke about his work interviewing and video taping those who were around to see the magnificent trees and will be presenting his "Chestnut Memories" in the near future.
