A
membership drive and information sharing forum for the Georgia
chapter of TACF was held on Saturday March 12th at Berry
College’s Science Building auditorium.
About 30
interested American Chestnut Tree lovers attended to learn more about
the plight of this beautiful tree and the restoration of the American
Chestnut Foundation.
Dr Don
Davis, president of the Georgia chapter, Patricia Tomlinson Assistant
Professor of Biology at Berry College along with several area Chapter
members were present for this informative public forum.
Dr Donald Davis, acting President of the Georgia
Chapter of The American Chestnut Foundation presented a background
history of the tree.Mark Stallings, Georgia Teacher of The
Year, is the chapter's nominee for President in 2005-2006. Mark
spoke about his work interviewing and video taping those who were
around to see the magnificent trees and will be presenting his
"Chestnut Memories" in the near future.
